S.T.E.P. On Fear - Step 1 - Setting of the mind
Negative thinking is fear-based. Fear is inevitable in life. Therefore, it is important to learn how to handle fear in order to live a positive life and enjoy living life to the fullest. The first step to "S.T.E.P. on Fear" starts within yourself. There are three important stages in the setting of the mind:
(1) Awareness: Take ownership of your fear. You need to accept and acknowledge the challenge, the problem and the concern that you are experiencing are important for you to deal with. You need to understand that once you step on your own fear, you will benefit for your own good. It is never meant for living up to someone else’s expectation but it is always meant for your own growth in life. Therefore your self-awareness of the need to step on fear is the first stage of the first step of the mind-setting to S.T.E.P. on Fear.
(2) Belonging: It is ok to feel vulnerable. And when we cry, it doesn’t mean that we are weak and when we feel down, it doesn’t mean we that won’t grow up. You are not alone with your fear and problems in life. Someone out there and many of us here had been through or are going through exactly what you are experiencing right now. All you need to do is to reach out and seek belonging with people who can bring out the best in you, not the stress in you. You belong to a group who understands you, cares for you and supports you. Mother Teresa once said "the greatest suffering is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved and unwanted". In order to S.T.E.P. on Fear, you need to get out of suffering. Do not hang around with toxic thoughts and negative influences, let it be food, habit, environment or people who make you feel worse or more scared. Step out and find your true belonging because “In true Love, there is no fear”.
(3) Compliments: What we think in our minds will eventually become what we believe. This is why it is so important that we start saying positive things about ourselves many times on each and every day. Be faithful on the small. Celebrate every small wins. Make yourself happy by complimenting every positive progress you make in the process to S.T.E.P. on Fear. Gradually, your core values become clearer and you start to appreciate the abundance in life. By stepping on fear, you can stand on higher ground with a better vision. By stepping on fear, you can view better and be certain that stars are real and dreams do come true. By stepping on fear, you can achieve more and be happy.
